ABOUT THE RETREAT
It's All Greek To Me! is a Wellness Retreat Consciously Curated to Explore and Experience New Things. We will learn about Greek Culture. Experiment with Yoga and Meditation. And Discover Island Adventures!
Greek Culture
Amorgos Greece is a mountainous Greek island at the Eastern end of the Cylades. It is untouched by mass tourism and has a population of under 3,000. Its natural beauty of mountains and sea creates the perfect setting for immersing oneself in the Greek Culture as well as to relax and rejuvenate. Spend an evening learning the art of Greek Dance. Prepare a meal and learn Greek cooking traditions. Tour the island, including the 11th Century Monastery of Panagia Chozoviotissa. Walk through quaint island villages and stop at a Kafeneia, a Greek Cafe.
Yoga and Meditation
If you have ever thought of going on a yoga retreat, but thought you don't have enough "yoga experience." Or maybe you thought your practice "isn't good enough?" Or maybe you don't have a yoga or meditation practice, but are curious and would like to try. It's All Greek To Me is perfect for you! We practice accessible yoga, doing what your body allows, and what feels right for you whether you are a newbie or an experienced practitioner. We will also offer two classes of Aqua Yoga, yoga practiced in the water. This type of practice offers new challenges while also offering more stability and flexibility. If Meditation is Greek to you, discover the peace and serenity of different types of mediation practices, including walking meditation, mantra meditation and, of course, our favorite, Yoga Nidra.
Island Adventure
Natural Beauty abounds on Amorogos and we will delight in connecting with it. We will hike through ancient trails right from our resort to three local villages. We'll be greeted by breathtaking vistas of both mountains and sea. We'll view ancient ruins and chapels. Another day, we will also set out on the gorgeous waters of the Aegean Sea in a traditional island Tender Boat, escaping to a secluded beach. In the peace and serenity, you will have time to relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty of sun and sand.

Aegialis Hotel & Spa is the only 5 Star Resort on Amorgos and rated one of the top 5 Yoga Hotels in Greece by CNN. You will delight in an oceanview room with private balcony. Savor delicious gourmet specialties, including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. All prepared with organic vegetables from their own gardens. All You Need To Know To Book!
Click the RESERVE MY SPOT button below. Choose Single or Double Occupancy. The complete payment is due in 3 installments, the first being today, the next in one month and the final prior to February 1. Please review all the terms in our Cancellation Policy.
Double Occupancy rooms can have two separate beds and are great for friends traveling together or for two solo travelers. Solo travelers who reserve a double room will be paired up with a roommate of the same gender. However, if we do not have a roommate for you by Jan 1, you will be responsible for the single pricing. At that time if you choose to cancel, we will refund all monies less a 10% service charge.
There are no flight options to Amorgos. It is only accessible by ferry.
Retreat pricing includes a ferry from Athens. Because the ferry service does not post their schedule for 2023 until January 1, we cannot give you an exact departure time until then. We recommend that you plan to arrive in Athens prior to May 29 and spend some time exploring the city.
We are offering a retreat extension for an additional charge of $850. This includes a two-night stay in Athens, May 27-28, a half-day tour of the city as well as breakfast and dinner. If you choose not to partake in the retreat extension, we will notify you of the ferry departure times for both arrival on May 29 and return on June 5, once ferry schedules are posted. We recommend you plan to arrive in Athens no later than May 28 to allow time to decompress before our ferry ride and depart Athens on June 6.
Ferries also run from Santorini. If you choose to fly into Santorini and take the ferry from there, you will be responsible for the cost and scheduling of the ferry. Only the ferry from Athens is included in your transfers.
You do not need to have a yoga or meditation practice. This is a Well-Being Retreat. Well-Being is a construct, much like the weather. There are many ways to enhance our well-being. We will touch on a number of them, including yoga and meditation. If you have never practiced or do not practice regularly, now is your opportunity!
BUT, if you already have a yoga and/or meditation practice, this is the perfect time to explore it more deeply.
The resort provides all yoga props, including mats. However, if you prefer to bring your own, you are more than welcome to do so.
Greece uses the Euro. Although most businesses will accept major credit cards, we do recommend converting some US Dollars into Euro's either before or after your arrival for incidentals.
Yes you will! You will need a Type C, or “Euro Plug” adapter.
There will be WIFI at Aegialis, but do expect High Speed Access. We hope you will spend more time in the present moment than on the web.
June is the start of Summer on Amorgos and is GORGEOUS! Temperatures range from highs around 78°F and lows at night around 66°F. June is also a very dry month, with very little rainfall or humidity, but PLENTY OF SUNSHINE! The sea temperatures may be on the chilly side, but swimmable. Be sure to pack your suit not just for the beach, but also for our Aqua Yoga practices in the comfortable waters of the spa pool.
