  • Week 1- The Beauty of the mind
    Discuss the mind and neuroplasticity.  How meditation is self directed neuroplasticity. 
  • Week 2 - Being Mindful
    Learn how mindfulness can be used in daily activities and how meditation has been utilized for ages in many cultures and religions. 

  • Week 3 - Focused Awareness Meditation Techniques
    Focusing on the breath and mantra meditation. Discover Yoga Nidra, similar to a focused awareness meditation, but uses a systematic process to bring one closer to sleep, allowing more rest in the mind. 

  • Week 4 - Open Awareness Mediation Techniques
    Practice noting and self-Inquiry techniques.  Review everything we’ve learned. Discuss what they can use go forward. What will your practice be.

Train your mind to let go of negative thought patterns and release anxiety and worry.

So, it turns out I CAN meditate, I just needed to find the kind of meditation that works for me. I always assumed you had to be in a very zen space, sitting still with a silent mind. Kathi taught us that this is not the case. At first I found it very difficult to focus but as the weeks went by Kathi encouraged us not to put pressure on ourselves, to take small steps and to just continue to try. It was on the fourth week that I found the meditation that works for me.
